A two week artistic residency located at the offices of the Belfast Telegraph and public open day at PSsquared Gallery.
Who owns the news? Whose news is it? How do our own personal stories fit with today’s media priorities? Together artists and young participants will look at the nature of today’s newspapers. With occasional interventions from the Telegraph’s own staff, they will tell stories, play games, experiment and make art in response to their surroundings. Sister of Another Mama are the current artists in residence at the Belfast Telegraph where they are working towards producing their own supplement to accompany the daily paper by working alongside journalists and groups of young people.
SoAM will spend one day in the nearby PSsquared Gallery on Donegall Street where they will be exploring some of the more performative aspects of their practise that have emerged from the Telegraph residency where they are responding to the editorial environment and media priorities, the public are invited to drop in to PSsquared between 12 and 8pm on Saturday 24th October and check the website for details of where to pick up the final newspaper supplement
