Northern Ireland Opera
Turandot, Giacomo Puccini
Award-winning Northern Ireland Opera present a rare opportunity to see Puccini’s final masterpiece, Turandot, fully staged in Northern Ireland. This radical and provocative new production from internationally acclaimed director Calixto Bieito will shock and enthral in equal measure. Having previously worked to great acclaim with English National Opera and with a show soon to open at The Met in New York, Bieito is a director with a world-wide reputation for producing opera as Spectacle.
Featuring the aria Nessun Dorma, and an international and Irish cast including: Turandot (Miriam Murphy / Orla Boylan), Calaf (Neal Cooper / Marc Heller) and Liu (Anna Patalong), the combined vocal forces of 90 singers and of course, the Ulster Orchestra (now in its fourth year of partnership with NI Opera), this production of Turandot is sure to be one of the most spectacular performances on an Irish stage this year.
Co-produced by the State Theatre of Nuremberg, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse and Northern Ireland Opera
This is a show that needs to be seen. It may well be the definitive Turandot of this decade
