And You Will Stand On Windswept Beaches
Owen Booth | Big Telly Theatre Company in collaboration with Gavin Peden
A poetic deep dive into toxic masculinity and the editable self.
We are familiar with the idea that social media is a factory where happiness can be faked, but what if our obsession with editing forfeits our ability to recognise truth? What if in our effort to imitate the cry of the wolf we have lost the boy?
And You Will Stand on Windswept Beaches is about how we live in a graveyard of our forgotten selves, it’s about men, about how they navigate the legacy of toxic masculinity – and, ultimately, how to find a way beyond it…
