Arts in Contested Spaces
Office of Identity & Cultural Expression
In societies shaped by ethno-national, political and religious divisions, artistic expression can both unite and divide. This discussion explores how we can create space for people to celebrate and express their culture, national identity and heritage while recognising the experiences and sensitivities of others.
With contributions from local and international voices, including Brian Dougherty, Dr. Pól Deeds and Deirdre Robb, and chaired by Dr. Katy Radford, the panel considers the role artists can play in reconciliation, tolerance and meaningful dialogue.
