Blackbirds, Bricks and The Man Who Sold Belfast – A Stroll Through Ormeau Park
Northern Ireland Tourist Guide Association
Ormeau Park was formerly the seat of the Marquis of Donegall, an estate hidden in the countryside south of the river.
In 1871 it became the first public park in Belfast and remains a popular place for rest and relaxation. Learn the history of this area and the changing ownership of the land of Ballynafeigh over the centuries. This old park is a treasured haven and this walk through the trees will deepen your appreciation of its place in our history. The walk is mainly on pathways, but there are a few diversions onto grass, so please wear appropriate footwear & clothing in case of wet conditions.
We’ve partnered with the Northern Ireland Tourist Guide Association to offer insightful cultural walking tours during the Festival. Led by experienced guides, these tours provide a fresh perspective on Belfast’s history and heritage. Whether you’re familiar with the city or exploring it for the first time, they offer a thoughtful way to engage with its stories and streets.
