Music

A bespoke cultural, culinary evening which includes four dainty, sweet and savoury dishes lovingly prepared by Caifé Ceoil’s chef, live music throughout the evening by gypsy-jazz quartet Manouche.

Gypsy Jazz, or, Jazz Manouche in French, originated in France in the 1930’s with Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. The style has seen an international revival in recent years.

Manouche is a group of musicians who have been promoting Gypsy Jazz in Belfast for over ten years. Their band is a quartet formed by Mateusz Chmielewski (guitar) and Niall Lynch (violin) on lead instruments, with Bill Johnston (double bass) and Nicolas Deschatrettes (guitar) on rhythm instruments.
