Clare Sands
Music

Sixth-generation fiddle player and bilingual singer Clare Sands is a distinctive voice in Irish folk. Drawing deeply from the music of her ancestors, she weaves traditional Irish roots with contemporary sounds and influences. Her songs are deeply connected to place and inspired by folklore, language, and activism.

Her eponymous debut was named an Irish Times’ Top 5 Folk Album of 2022. She comes to Belfast with songs from her new album, They Tried To Bury Us – a collection rooted in Ulster and strident in its resistance to oppression and insistence that love and hope will never be buried.

Sands excavates into Ireland's ancient myths & landscapes whilst exploring the political exigencies of it's here and now… A bold, beautiful album brimming with ideas.
