Cs Lewis Walking Tour
Talks & Ideas

One of the country’s best known writers, and probably best known for the Narnia series of children’s books, C S Lewis was an author, lecturer and philosopher who embraced Christianity in middle age.

This walking tour will cover the Upper Newtownards Road, the part of east Belfast most associated with this important local citizen. The tour will start at Cafe Nero near CS Lewis Square.

After the Square and the nearby library, the tour will take in the landmarks and points of interest relating to the author, including a trip to St Mark’s church where he was baptised. The tour will commence and end at Cafe Nero on the Lower Newtownards Road. There will be opportunities to interact and ask questions at each stop.

We’ve partnered with the Northern Ireland Tourist Guide Association to offer insightful cultural walking tours during the Festival. Led by experienced guides, these tours provide a fresh perspective on Belfast’s history and heritage. Whether you’re familiar with the city or exploring it for the first time, they offer a thoughtful way to engage with its stories and streets.
