Faust-ish
Big Telly Theatre Company
This Halloween, Big Telly returns home with something wickedly new.
Fresh from Off Broadway — where the company scooped Best Production for the critically acclaimed Granny Jackson’s Dead — they’re back with Faust-ish, a devilishly funny, fast-paced reimagining of the classic FAUST legend with a distinctly Northern Irish bite.
Faith Hughes, at 45 the youngest member of the NI Assembly, wants to fix the world. To do so, she’s willing to bargain with the devil. But when Lucifer reveals she lost her soul long ago, a new deal is struck: if Faith can discover the exact moment she lost it, she can win it back. The trouble is, the devil’s playing too.
In true Big Telly style, Faust-ish is part fable, part farce — a mash-up of otherworldly mischief, sharp political satire, and solid craic. Expect torchlit search parties, quick-fire wit, and a night of theatre that’s as riotous as it is revealing.
From the team behind Melmoth the Wanderer (“anarchic comedy-horror… brilliant, physical work” – The Herald, Scotland) and Frankenstein’s Monster is Drunk… (“a winsome cartwheel of a show” – The New York Times), as well as Best Production, Origin 1st Irish Festival 2025, comes this fiendishly clever twist on a time-honoured tale.
Join us, on this wild search party for an absent soul (bring your own torch).
