The BBC Radio 3 institution that is Friday Night Is Music Night is coming to Belfast to join the Ulster Orchestra’s 60th anniversary celebration!

Conductor Anna Handler leads the festivities at a live broadcast from the Ulster Hall for a celebration of symphonic music with Celtic roots from around these islands and across Europe.

Joining the orchestra will be violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain, one of Ireland’s foremost traditional fiddle players and a classical violinist of international stature.

The programme includes Bax’s Tintagel, Saint-Saëns’s Rhapsodie bretonne and Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture.
