God Has Left the Building

Award-winning Northern Irish theatre company c21 presents a rehearsed reading of God Has Left the Building by playwright/performer Richard Clements, writer of the 2025 break-out Belfast International Arts Festival hit Ottilie and How to Bury a Dead Mule (UK Theatre Best New Play Nominee).

Richard takes the audience back to his childhood in 1980s Northern Ireland in a poetically powerful and striking new one-man show about finding your voice within the bearpit of the school playground. A play about identity, faith, loss of innocence and chasing squirrels round trees. 

God Has Left the Building is confessional memoir theatre, as one man’s subconscious unlocks memories of BMX rides, summer days spent lying beneath open skies, and dreams of what the future might hold. But darker voices of authority circle, forcing questions that shouldn’t yet need answering.
