The John Hewitt Society
To mark the birth date of celebrated Belfast poet, John Hewitt, The John Hewitt Society presents an evening of poetry in the pub named after him.
This year, we will welcome Leeanne Quinn and Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan.
Leeanne Quinn’s third collection Landscape with Question was published by Carcanet Press in June 2026. Her debut collection, Before You (Dedalus Press, 2012), was highly commended in the Forward Prize for Poetry 2013. Her second collection, Some Lives (Dedalus Press, 2020), was noted as a Book of the Year by The Irish Times and The Irish Independent. Her poems have been widely anthologised. She holds a PhD in American Literature from Trinity College Dublin. Originally from Drogheda and Monasterboice, Co. Louth, she has lived in Germany, Austria, and is now based in Limerick, Ireland.
Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan is an Irish-Indian writer, performer, and cultural consultant, published by Banshee, Stinging Fly, Poetry Ireland, and others. She has been artist-in-residence for several science initiatives and is a Skein Press Play it Forward Fellow. Her debut poetry collection The Salt of Something New was published with Dedalus Press this year.
