M’ANAM
Belfast Music Society’s Northern Lights Mini-Fest
M’ANAM (“My Soul” in the Irish language) is a male voice group whose performances evoke soundscapes rooted in nature and the universality of the human condition.
They fuse music from Ireland, with its strong connection to the land, with a diversity of sounds and ideas. These encompass Nordic songs about Viking funeral rites and songs of the Celtic traditions, with ancient chantlike sonic textures that lend a timeless quality to their work.
M’ANAM have headlined Dublin’s Tradfest and Glasgow’s Celtic Connections and toured Europe to much acclaim. In 2025, they release their second album – an exploration of island people and their connections to the sea and land.
