Róise Ní Bhaoill
Talks & Ideas

Róise Ní Bhaoill joins us to discuss her award-winning collection of short stories Imram agus Scéalta Eile.

The collection, her first, won the Irish Language Fiction Book of the Year 2023 at the An Post Book Awards in Dublin.

Róise Ní Bhaoill’s first collection of poetry, Idir an Dá Fhearsaid, was published to critical acclaim earlier this year and was shortlisted for Gradam Uí Shúilleabháin 2024 (Book of the Year). She is also the author of learning materials for both adult and young learners of Irish, and the editor of collections of bilingual short stories, folklore and cultural essays.

The event will be chaired by Cathal Póirtéir.

Please note this event will be conducted entirely in the Irish language.

Bígí linn nuair a phléifidh Róise Ní Bhaoill a bailiúchán gearrscéalta Imram agus Scéalta Eile. Bhuaigh an leabhar, a céad cnuasach, Leabhar Ficsean Gaeilge na Bliana 2023 ag An Post Book Wards i mBaile Átha Cliath.

Fuair Idir an Dá Fhearsaid, a céad cnuasach filíochta a foilsíodh i mbliana, ardmholadh criticiúil and tá sé ar ghearrliosta Ghradam Uí Shúilleabháin 2024. Is údar í chomh maith ar ábhar foghlamtha do dhaoine fásta agus do pháistí agus tá eagar curtha aici ar bhailiúcháin gearrscéalta dátheangach, ábhar béaloidis agus aistí cultúrtha.

Is é Cathal Porter a bheidh ina chathaoirleach ar an imeacht.
