Duncairn Centre for Culture & Arts

Located on the Antrim Road, The Duncairn Centre for Culture & Arts is north Belfast’s first purpose built Arts and Culture shared space venue. The £3.5million venue is a world-class facility consisting of 3 art studios, exhibition galleries, community meeting rooms, 190 capacity theatre/concert and rehearsal space, café/bistro and conference rooms. The Duncairn provides a platform for local and international artists and musicians to showcase their work as well as give the local community access to an arts and cultural programme of the highest quality.

Since opening in 2014, The Duncairn has had a major and positive impact on the cultural landscape of north Belfast. We have welcomed more than 120,000 visitors and participants to the centre and seen the local creative community flourish and develop. The Duncairn has not only established a great reputation in Belfast but across the island and beyond.

We have seen a huge growth in the range of art classes and craft workshops now available at the Duncairn, which include photography, instrument making, painting and drawing, ceramics, fashion design, music classes, Irish language, literature and storytelling, printmaking, set dancing, uilleann piping, paper crafting, basket weaving, jewellery making, bog oak carving, assorted crafting and much more.

The Duncairn has in a very short period also established itself as one of the city’s major live music venues with world-renowned artists regularly performing to full houses. In fact, The Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts is now widely recognised as Belfast’s number one venue for Irish Traditional music and a purveyor of top-class concerts in the genres of world music, jazz, soul, folk, acoustic and others.
