A Tribute to Brian Friel

The Ulster Bank Belfast International Arts Festival is greatly saddened to hear of the death earlier today of Brian Friel.

Brian was for many the most distinctive and unique voice of theatre that Ireland has produced in the last 50 years. He was also a giant of world theatre too and will be greatly missed by all of us who had the good fortune to experience not only his talent but his generosity and kindness too.
